The Bahnentour Davos Klosters is our original Bahnentour, conquering 10,000 vertical metres. Since summer 2017, a second route has been added in Davos, covering 100 km of enduro trails in a single day. Both tours run exclusively over alpine single trails and no downhill stretches are repeated.
If you'd like to tackle the Davos Klosers Bahnentour, it's a good idea to arrive the day before in order to reach the first cable car (ski lift) to the Weissfluhjoch early the next morning. And if you are already in the area, extending your stay for a second night would be ideal, too. The single trails in Davos Klosters offer even more options than the trails on the Bahnentour package. Davos Klosters is unique because it is home to five different cable cars (ski lifts) that offer bike transport. The Bahnentour combines these cable cars to cover almost 10,000 m of vertical distance in a single tour, more than anywhere else in the world. The tour requires very good, confident riding technique in alpine terrain and a strict adherence to the schedule. The Bahnentour Davos Klosters pushes the limit of what's possible, which is why many people shouldn't try to do this route right away. There's no time for breaks or an after-lunch nap, but the fact that the trail experience is all the more intense can make up for it. During a round trip between Davos and Küblis, the idea was born to integrate as many single trail descents as possible into a single day's tour. This is achieved by using cable cars (ski lifts) for the ascents. The original route is now legendary and some have learned their personal limits trying to master it.
In Davos Klosters, the single trails are so numerous that it was possible to set up a second Bahnentour route. This 100 km version differs in many respects from the original route, but remains true to the principle: uphill with the cable car, downhill on as many singletrails as possible. The result: an enduro tour covering 100 kilometres.
Die Bahnentour ist eine Aneinanderreihung der besten Trails der Region, welche mit den örtlichen Bergbahnen erreicht werden können. Der Fokus liegt hierbei natürlich auf Trail-Abfahrten, die Höhenmeter bergauf werden soweit möglich mit der Bergbahn gemeistert.

Die Bahnentour Davos wie auch die Bahnentour Engadin St. Moritz ist mit guter Fitness und guter Fahrtechnik an einem Tag machbar. Allerdings darf man keine langen Pausen einlegen, und Defekte sind tunlichst zu vermeiden. Dabei bleibt auch immer Zeit, Wanderer zu grüssen oder sich an der Talstation nicht vorzudrängen. Eine zügige Fahrweise reicht, um den straffen Zeitplan einzuhalten. Die Bahnentour Arosa Lenzerheide ist eine zwei Tages-Tour.
Idealerweise fährt man die Bahnentour im August und September. Anfang Juli kann es sein, dass in höheren Nordlagen noch einzelne Schneefelder passiert werden müssen. Passend ist es, die Bahnentour nach dem Alpabzug Ende September zu fahren, weil dann die meisten Weidezäune bereits entfernt sind und man auf den Singletrails freie Fahrt hat.
Nein! Ein Downhill-Bike ist für die Bahnentour zu schwer und ungeeignet, weil sie auch einzelne Aufstiege umfasst. Sämtliche Abfahrten der Bahnentour können mit Bikes mit weniger Federweg gefahren werden. Je mehr Federweg zur Verfügung steht, desto weniger schnell ermüdet man gegen Ende der Tour.

The Bahnentour Davos Klosters is one of the most attractive mountain biking packages on offer in the Alps. It takes a lot of experience, good route knowledge, and a little luck to conquer the 10,000 metres downhill.
