Albula Haute Route
Description

The best place to start the Albula Haute Route is Crappa Naira. Here there is a post bus stop which is easily accessible from Davos and Lenzerheide. The ascent begins immediately, initially along a gravel road and then becoming steeper and steeper. After Alp Pigni only the strongest can continue riding - others have to get off and push from time to time. Below Propissi you bear right and enter the first singletrail near Ruoinas. At Plaun Crappa Naira there is a further climb up to the Alpine hamlet of Aclas Dafora on the next trail. Now you ascend towards Alp da Creusch, but branch off at the halfway mark onto a singletrail. This is initially narrow, but then becomes wider and more exciting. Along a creek you have to push for a few metres, before the fun trail continues. Near Ragleuna you also need to push your bike for a stretch before reaching Schmittner and Wiesner Alp on a singletrail. Now comes the day’s absolute highlight: the descent into Platschtobel and onwards via Bärentritt to Wiesen station. There’s no end to the singletrail fireworks, with the route taking you along the Landwasser river to the well-known railway viaduct near Filisur. From here you can take the train back to Davos or follow the mountain bike route to Tiefencastel, from where the post bus will take you back to Lenzerheide.

Tip: At the Maiensäss Aclas Dafora is a post da marenda - a self-service kiosk, which is operated by the Parc Ela.
