The Bimbam Trail is the rewarding alternative route to the Goldsee-Trail, which has many hikers in main season. This option is even more attractive because the chairlift to the Furkelhütte is integrated, making the tour even more downhill singletrails.
The Stilfserjoch is the starting point of the Bimbam tour, which begins with the steep ascent to the Garibaldi hut. Right behind it, you head into the Goldsee-Trail. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. there is a bike ban here, but our route only leads over the first section of the Goldsee-Trail. At the mountain ridge above the Goldsee, on the right hand side we take the great descent past the upper and lower Tartscher Alm to the village of Trafoi. While up on the Goldsee-Trail the hikers march in column during the main season, one hardly meets anyone on this route. In Trafoi take the chairlift to Furkelhütte and return to the original route of the Goldsee-Tour. This leads up and down past the Stilfser Alm to the Lichtenbergscharte. A short section on a gravel road is the order of the day until the next trail begins at the left turn. With this trail the long descent to Prad begins, which forms the sensational conclusion of this tour. Depending on the starting point of the tour, you head for Spondinig in Prad and follow the cycle path to Glurns, where you board the Postbus to the Stelvio, which you have chosen as your starting point in the Val Müstair.
