Those who like single trails will be happy in the Albula valley. Especially on the route to Crap Furo, the geographical centre of Graubünden. In combination with the ascent to the Alvaneuer Alp (Aclas), the round tour is unparalleled trail fun.
After the start in Surava, we'll get right down to business. A steep gravel road leads to Crap Furo, 250 meters higher up. Here you are at the geographical centre of Graubünden, but also at a spectacular rock tower in the middle of the forest. The rock is the starting point of a first-class but narrow singletrail through the fairytale-like forest. Again and again the trail goes a little bit uphill, at a viewpoint the start of the descent is finally reached. An initially challenging trail, which then becomes faster and faster, leads from here to the Alvaneu golf course on the valley floor. Those who are already at the end of their tether can roll along the signposted bike route along the Albula River to Surava. In this version of the route, however, you are now heading for the second highlight of the day: the Aclas downhill. From Alvaneu Bad you climb up on an asphalt road to Alvaneu village, from where a gravel road leads to Aclas Davains. This lovely alp is considered one of the most beautifully situated mountain pastures of the Central Grisons. Unfortunately, nobody has yet had the idea of running a restaurant up here. It would be the ideal place for us to have a snack before the descent. This leads from Aclas Davains uphill for a few more meters until you board an old super path on the south side towards Alvaneu. Above the village you cross the stream and immediately afterwards you take the next old super path. Here you have to descend a few metres on foot at the entrance before the trail leads in best trail style to the shooting range at the post bus stop Crappa Naira. Follow the road for a few metres, climb a little towards the Belfort ruins, and then continue on to the last and wonderful part of the trail, which leads directly to the centre of Surava.
