Description
Rheinschlucht (Ruinaulta)
Description

The tour starts at the narrow pass from Flims to Laax. You travel initially via forest paths and then the first track starts at Mutta Sura. This ends just above Conn, but make a detour to the observation deck - it‘s worth it. The route then takes a direct path into the ravine, however this track only offers a moderate level of fun as the path has too many steps. The fun really starts when you use the railway bridge to cross the Rhine. You must master a snappy ascent to Chrummwag and then a winding, upriver track along the Rhine. There are multiple challenging, but doable, climbs to overcome and at certain points the roots call for you to find a good line but the path always flows again. The spectacular scenery provides a once in a lifetime experience. The track leads to Ilanz where you can take the postbus back to Flims.

Note: In 2014, Flims issued a recommendation that the track from Mutta Sura to Conn and the entire Rhine Gorge should not be used by mountain bikers between 10:00 and 16:00.
