The Kesch hut is a well-known destination for mountain bikers. From the Upper Engadine, it is the destination of the Keschum tour, which features a lot of variety and great single trails, and which offers first class alpine scenery.
From La Punt you continue to Madulain and onto the old road to S-chanf. Just before the main road, branch off left onto an alpine road that you will follow up to Susauna. You will gain a lot of altitude journeying through the wild Val Susauna valley, though the path does get ever steeper and rougher. Finally, at Alp Funtauna, you will have the opportunity to get over the Scaletta Pass to Davos. We prefer the single trail running through the Val Funtauna, which is easily passable by bike on the valley floor. You will have to bike harder on the last climb before Keschhütte in order to reach the hut. After a rest in the SAC hut, follow the fun-filled Ministrässchen down to Chants. The hiking trail that lies to the right is exceptionally difficult and is only recommended for thrill-seeking mountain bikers. Keep left onto a trail shortly before Chants, reached below the road through the Val Tuors valley, and you will follow this to Bergün. Tired mountain bikers can now take the train back to the Engadine, but a return journey over the Albula Pass is recommended. For this, you will climb to the pass road to Preda and continue until the apex, 2313 metres above sea level. The descent to La Punt leads from this point on to the single trail running to the right of the road.
