Description

Lag da Pigniu is tucked away in a side valley of the Grisons Oberland. It is a wonderful single-trail destination for mountain bikers setting out from Brigels.

We start the tour in Brigels, taking eight serpentines up to Alp Dado Sut; if you prefer, you can cover a large part of the ascent with chairlift. Take a slightly rising alpine trail to reach Alp da Stiarls, Alp Sura Dadens, and then a demanding single trail with a few sliding passages to the Urschiu Sura peak above the Val da Pigniu. The descent starts on the continuation of single track, but then continues on well-developed, fast alpine roads down to Andiast From here, ride up the Val da Pigniu on the right side of the valley. Finally, change to the other side and take a steep path to the small road that leads to the reservoir. Follow this uphill and circle Lag da Pigniu to reach the single trail on the west side of the lake and the single trail descent at the dam. Finally, you’ll return to the ascent route again and again climb the steep path up to the reservoir road. But instead of going up, head downhill. After the Sogn Francestg chapel, turn onto the next ascent. Follow the marked mountain bike route to Siat and then take the footpath to Rueun. In the valley, roll along on the forest and country roads to Tavanasa, from where you can take the postbus back to Brigels.
