Description

The Alps Epic Trail Davos is one of the most famous tours in the Davos region. There’s also a shorter version that is no less compelling. It runs from Davos to Monstein and back again.

After an initial climb, you’ll reach Clavadel at the entrance to the Sertig valley. A short descent leads to the Sertig stream, where you cross the Sertig valley road, and then the route includes a mix of singletrails and forest roads over Heidboden and Junkerboden to Spina. This is where the climb to the Jatzmeder Rinerhorn mountain station starts. Immediately before Jatzmeder, turn right onto the high route towards Monstein. This is a fun route that’s tricky in parts, but then flows down to Hauderalp. After a few curves on the road towards Monstein, branch off onto an attractive singletrail to Oberalp and Inneralp. From Inneralp, the route heads back down to Monstein. After taking a short break, take the forestry roads downhill past Spina to Glaris, where you’ll switch to the other side of the valley to avoid the traffic on the main road. Then it’s a comfortable ride through Lengmatta and Frauenkirch back to where you started. Notice: This route is fully signposted as route 335.
