The tour to Alp Clünas in Scuol is a mountainbike classic – but it can still be styled. For example, by integrating the 3067 meter high Piz Minschun. This makes the tour an extraordinary high alpine experience for good riding technicians.
Get into the saddle for the ascent to Piz Minschun at the mountain station of the Motta-Maluns cable car. Initially you climb up a forest road until a singletrail branches off to the left to Alp Clünas. A few metres further on you have to shoulder your bike. A narrow path leads directly up to Piz Clünas. The following descent down to Lai da Minschun offers a foretaste of the later version: rocky, steep, slippery, but rideable. At Lai da Minschun, not so experienced mountainbikers can deposit their bikes and tackle the summit storm on foot. With the others, the bike now lies on their shoulders. 400 meters of altitude difference are to be overcome up to the summit with its first-class view of the Lower Engadine. The descent leads back to the lake along the ascent route, is very steep and very slippery due to the fine scree. It is definitely not everyone's cup of tea and only becomes more fluid again after the lake. The route to Alp Laret, on to Prui and down to Val Tasna is a fireworks display of singletrails. At the river Tasna one changes for a short part to the road to Ftan, to get from here directly on singletrails down into the valley floor and along the Inn river back to Scuol.
