Tibet-Trail
Description

The Tibet trail leads from Stilfserjoch to Trafoi. By combining the world-class trail with the Lichtenberg Charter, the resulting single trail tour is superlative.

If you ride with the shuttle onto Stilfserjoch, the driver should drive up to the Tibethütte. The round inn gave the trail its name. The route starts just behind the house with a short rise. From here, a technical, but very passable switchback trail leads down to the Franzenshöhe and there finds its continuation. The further you ride in the direction of the barracks, the more difficult to traverse the way becomes. The switchbacks in the forest are, in the final analysis, only to be mastered by going through them. The Trail to Trafoi then again becomes smooth. From here, take the chairlift to start at the Furkelhütte in the second part of the tour. Follow the mule track and eventually the single trail to Stilfseralm and further to Lichtenbergscharte. The smooth trail passes by Gaschlin and later becomes somewhat flatter. Now the route leads through an open pine forest towards Prad, which in some places requires a cautious choice of route. The run is top class and leads in its final metres over a narrow road back to Prad.
