The Zügen ravine near Davos offers supreme singletrail fun without big crowds of hikers. The route leads from the Rinerhorn to Wiesen, then on the other side of the valley along a top-class trail with great flow.
From the Davos-Glaris train station, ride through Spina and over the Riederalp in the direction of the Rinerhorn. After the last left serpentine before the Rinerhorn mountain station, turn off the right onto a singletrail toward Monstein. This track has great flow, but also a few technical stretches as it leads via the Hauderalp and the Oberalp to Monstein. From there, the route follows a short stretch of paved forest road until passing Jenisberg, where another fast-paced singletrail begins. This track leads to a forest road that will take you to the Wiesen train station. Ride up to the village of Wiesen and turn off to the right by the Volg shop in the direction of the Brüggentobel ravine. This trail is well-built, but becomes quite steep at the end as it leads to the ridge above Alp Steig. Shortly before reaching the summit, the path becomes a wonderful singletrail that has a great flow as it gradually descends high above the Zügen ravine. This track leads onto a fast-paced forest lane and eventually onto the main road, which you can follow for a few meters back to the Davos-Glaris train station.
