The Duranna pass between Arosa and Klosters is a classic mountain bike trail. It is a part of the wonderful singletrail tour to the Fideriser Heuberge, from where it goes over Arflinafurgga through the Fondei valley back into the Prättigau.
As you set out from Küblis, you’ll initially ride on a side road to Fideris via Strahlegg. Once there, you’ll begin the long ascent 1‘100 metres up to the Fiderise Heuberge on a well-groomed mountain road. Once in the Heuberge, head off on a singletrail behind the Arflina mountain lodge, where you’ll ascend the remaining 250 metres to Arflinafurgga. From there, it’s smooth downhill singletrail to Gasthaus Pirigen, a worthwhile place to take some refreshment. Continue down the singletrail until you head left onto the second ascent of the day to the Fondei valley. The tarmac mountain road runs up to the pretty village of Strassberg. From Strassberg, the trail gets rougher, but still passable to Alp Sattel. There you’ll hit a somewhat better singletrail that can be climbed if you put a lot of strength into it and then evens out into a lovely path through the mountain meadows just before Duranna pass. The trail continues to Alp Duranna, but is somewhat affected in parts. Head down from the mountain either via the gravel road or via the old mountain path which is a rough singletrail. In Birchenbüelen (Basler House), turn right onto a singletrail that heads back to Küblis via Plandagorz with some stretches of forestry roads.
